Right? Me, too! It was hilarious when he brought it home to us, his self-portrait. He is a passionate one. Have no idea where he gets it :-) It's an awesome visual reminder of how we must look in those moments. Which could be really sad, but I choose to see it as comic relief instead. My other son would probably be more like a red face and steam coming out his ears. He is more of a stuffer/then blow kind of kid. LOL. Thanks for reading and commenting, sweet girl!! XO
Hi Danielle! Loved your post! And I love how you call your students your darlings! I had a similar sitaution yesterday where my routine was disrupted. We're watching my daughters cats and so my space for training and mediation got relocated in favor of cat towers and toys. And we had an early meeting at works that took all morning, and I wasn't able to meditate until after 1.
But it's important we experience these inconveniences. As Rumi said "Pray for a difficult teacher". Spiritual growth would be nothing without. There would be no growth. Only stagnation. No life. Only death. Be grateful for what the the ever-changingness of life reminds us, and points us to the eternal for true salvation.
Hi Aaron! Awww, thank you!! Thanks for reading and commenting. They ARE ALL darlings.
I know, it is important to have a little variety in our days once in a while. It helps us better meet life head on when we get the opportunity to entertain the unexpected once in a while and be great hosts, to boot. Sunday was again another such day for me. My mom is aging and not well, unfortunately. I celebrated with her on Saturday for Mother's Day, so I could have Sunday for myself but some issues arose that needed to be addressed rather urgently. I think my sister and I have worked out a plan though, so that is reassuring. Have a great week! XO
Just love that picture of your son flipping his lid! I'm going to imagine it next time I flip mine!
